John Clinton Bradley, age 67, of Plymouth, Indiana passed away at 10:27pm on Saturday, May 25, 2013 at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Carmel Indiana following surgery complications.
He was born on March 14, 1946 in Rochester, Indiana to Bob and Betty (Carr) Bradley, and graduated from Rochester High School in 1964. He has resided in Plymouth, Indiana since 1977. John married Dina Bradley on Valentine’s Day in 1970 in Rochester, Indiana. He was father to Jonathon and Elizabeth Bradley, grandfather to Sydney and Avery Bradley.
John served in the United States Navy for four years in Virginia Beach, New Hampshire, and Athens, Greece where he met his wife. John traveled playing basketball in the Navy and never boarded a ship. He earned a college degree in Business Management and worked as a Prudential Insurance agent for 30+ years. John was an avid Bass Fisherman and member of the MARCO Bass Masters for over 30 years. He was also an active member of the Plymouth Moose Lodge.
John and Dina enjoyed traveling with family and friends and was known for “working to live, not living to work”. He enjoyed spending time with Zebra classmates at reunions and mini-reunions in Cape Coral, Florida where John and Dina spent the last four winters. John could often be found playing poker on the Cape Coral Beach. John, who never met a stranger, was known for his outgoing, kind, and humorous nature. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Dina Bradley of Plymouth Indiana, son Jonathon Bradley and granddaughters Sydney & Avery of Lafayette, Indiana, daughter Elizabeth Bradley of New York City, sisters, Patricia (Roland) Pereira of Crown Point, IN and Linda (Tom) Smith of Leo, IN and several nephews, nieces and cousins.
“John Bradley was out fished by few, and will be missed by many.”
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Bradley in 2001 and his mother, Betty Bradley in 2009.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home on Saturday, June 1st from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Services will be in the funeral home at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Pastor Oliver Dongell will officiate. Military Honors will be provided by members of the American Legion Post 27, the Veterans of Foreign Wars – Marshall County Post 1162 and the D.A.V.
Family and friends are then encouraged to attend a Celebration of Life reception at the Wesleyan Church, 11203 S. Michigan Road, Plymouth, hosted by Chris and Sharon Collins immediately following the service.
