Joseph B. Dixon, 72, a Plymouth-LaPorte Trail resident in Plymouth, passed away at his home on Tuesday, June 3rd at 1:20 p.m. following an illness.
Born the son of Cecil Vernon and Agnes Carolyn (Luse) Dixon, Joe was born on February 17, 1942 in Plymouth where he attended school. Joe had worked in construction and spent 11 years in Florida prior to moving back to the Plymouth area.
Surviving are his sons, Joseph B. Dixon Jr., his wife Sheila and Douglas Dixon of Kentucky and grandchildren. His siblings include Sandra K. (Charles) Miller of LaPaz, his twin sister Joyce E. Arndt of Florida, Dora Ann VanBlaircom of Plymouth, Richard Dixon of Plymouth and Jim (Amy) Dixon of Berrien Springs, MI. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Jack Dixon.
Joe loved animals especially his pet dogs, Tess and Sophie.
In accordance with Joe’s wishes, a graveside service only will be held in the New Oakhill Cemetery, Plymouth at 11 a.m. Monday June 9th. The Rev. Bridget Hoch, Center for Hospice Care, will preside.
