Josephine E. Spiewak

Josephine E. “Jo” Spiewak, 86, died of natural causes at her residence 15649 14th Road, Plymouth, at 12:50 p.m. on Tuesday, January 27, 2004.

A homemaker and mother to her children and grandchildren, she was much loved and will be greatly missed.

Jo was born in Lublin, Wis., on February 2, 1917. She was the daughter of Michael and Veronica Swistak Kozikowski. She attended Blueberry School in Lublin.

She loved to cook, play pinochle and enjoyed crocheting and doing different crafts that she gave as gifts to her family and friends.

Jo is survived by five sons and their spouses. They are: Robert and Carol Spiewak; Raymond and Arlene Spiewak; and Dennis and Judy Spiewak, all of Plymouth. Also Thomas and Cathy Spiewak, Culver; and Lawrence and Nancy Spiewak, Monterey, Ind.

Fourteen grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren also survive together with a sister and three brothers. Her sister is Nellie Kozikowski, Thorp, Wis., and her brothers are: Frank Kozikowski, Chicago, Ill.; and Alex Kozikowski and Edward Kozikowski, both of Thorp, Wis.

Jo was preceded in death by her parents, a grandson, Rob Spiewak, a sister and five brothers.

Friends may call to celebrate Jo’s life on Thursday, January 29, 2004, from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth. A Wake Service in the funeral home will be held at 5 p.m.

Funeral services for Jo will be at 10 a.m. on Friday, January 30, 2004, in St. Mary’s of the Lake Roman Catholic Church, Culver, where she was a devoted member. The Rev. Father Glenn Kohrman, pastor of St. Mary’s will officiate.

Interment will be in Burr Oak Cemetery, Burr Oak, Ind.

Memorial gifts may be made in Jo’s memory to the Marshall County Hospice.
