Lady Judith Ann Marie Burger, 73, passed away in her home on Thursday, January 27, 2022, under the loving care of her husband.

Judy was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana on May 5, 1948, to Elmer and Olga Catherine (Miller) Watkins.

A hard worker, Judy worked at Stillman’s Retail Apparel in Fort Wayne and as a Food Service Manager at then Margos Den. While working one night, a newly discharged Army Veteran, James Ronald Burger, noticed her beauty and hard work ethic. The two made their vows of marriage on June 20, 1981, 41 years ago in Unity Church in Ft. Wayne, Indiana

Moving to Plymouth, James made sure she never had a worry and could be a concentrate as a Homemaker never having to work again. Which she enjoyed and spent a lot of her time gardening and reading.

She was a strong-willed force of nature, which her husband and family adored. She was determined in her beliefs and passions, and through their strengthen marriage in St. Michael Catholic Church on March 26, 1996, they adapted and grew together through their years.

She taught others to respect faith, and it doesn’t matter if you are a good or bad person, it is who you know you are and who you want to become that matters not what others think you are.

Judy and James were involved members of St. Michael Catholic Church in Plymouth. She ran the St. Michael’s gift shop at and enjoyed helping the Altar Rosary Society and Priests in need. She was known to as Lady Judith with the Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus Assembly #242 in South Bend, Indiana.

She is survived by her loving husband, James, and her children: Julie Ann Balasunderam, Vanessa (Paula) Brown, Carolyn Sue Carney (birth name), and Mathew Allen Carney (birth name) many Grandchildren and Greats; and oldest brother, Robert (Janice Hensley) Watkins from Dexter, Oregon.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents and youngest brother, Michael Julian Watkins.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 3, 2022, from 11-11:45 a.m. at St. Michael Catholic Church, 613 N. Center Street, Plymouth. A Rosary will be recited at 11:45 a.m.

Mass of Christian Burial will follow at noon with Fr. William Kummer from St. Joe Parish Hessen-Castle Indiana officiating.

Burial will be at a later date in the St. Michael Cemetery, Plymouth.
