Judy Morris, 55, a former Plymouth resident, died unexpectedly of an apparent heart attack, at her residence on the Gianiclis Air Base in Egypt at 3 p.m. on Friday, March 9, 2001.
Born in Plymouth, Ind., on Nov. 29, 1945, Judy was the daughter of Guy and Vivian Leiter Slater. She was a 1963 graduate of Plymouth High School.
On October 30, 1964, in Plymouth, she was married to Francis E. “Gene” Morris.
A military wife, who had lived in numerous places around the world, Judy enjoyed being around her family and friends. She liked playing Bingo, was an avid card player and enjoyed dancing.
In California, she was a member of the VFW Post 9375, the American Legion and the Moose Lodge.
She is survived by her husband, Francis and by two sons and their wives. The sons are Jeff and Paulette Morris, Killeen, Texas and Jerry and Denise Morris and their son, Christian of Fresno, Calif.
Judy’s mother, Vivian Slater and her sister and brother-in-law, Jan and John Filson, all of Plymouth, also survive as well as Mary Jane Slater, a sister-in-law of Wakarusa, Ind., several aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, and her brother, Jim Slater.
Friends may call at the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth on Monday, March 19, 2001, from 5 to 8 p.m.
Funeral services will be in the funeral home at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 20, 2001. The Rev. Patrick Puglisi, pastor of the Plymouth Missionary Church will officiate.
Burial will be in Tyner Cemetery.
Memorial gifts in Judy’s memory may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
