Karen A. Hileman Erbse, 51, 525 S. Michigan St., Plymouth, died unexpectedly of an aneurysm, at 7:08 p.m., Wednesday, January 3, 2001, in Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, Plymouth.
Karen, born on Dec. 5, 1949, in Logansport, Ind., was the daughter of Robert L. and Marian V. Furry Hileman of Plymouth.
She graduated in 1968 from Plymouth High School and was a 1972 graduate of Butler University with a B.S. in accounting. In 1985, she earned her Master’s of Business Accounting from Butler.
She worked at Bosworth’s Dept. Store during her high school years. In college she was an active member of Alpha Phi sorority. After graduation from college she was employed as an accountant for DOW Chemical and Key Health in Indianapolis and Modine International in Indianapolis. She later transferred to Charlotte, N.C.
Karen is survived by a son, Andrew Erbse, Noblesville, Ind., and a daughter, Elizabeth A. “Betsy” Erbse, Cincinnati, Ohio.
Also surviving her death are her parents, Robert and Marian Hileman, a brother, David Hileman, two sisters, Linda and Larry Mann and Judy and Mike Delp, all of Plymouth. Erica Delp, a niece and three nephews, Eric Mann and Michael and Adam Delp, all of Plymouth survive as well.
She was preceded in death by a niece, Krista Delp.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, January 6, 2001, from 3 to 6 p.m. in the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth.
Funeral services for Karen will be on Sunday, January 7, 2001, at 2 p.m. in the funeral home. Interment will be in New Oakhill Cemetery, Plymouth.
Memorial gifts in Karen’s memory may be made to the Trinity United Methodist Church, Plymouth, or the St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, Indianapolis, Ind.
