Lifetime Plymouth resident, Karl A. Olson, 92, passed away at 8:10 a.m. Thursday, May 24, 2012 in the Bremen Healthcare Center.
Karl became engaged in farming at a young age and only son of Albert and Vernie (Deadmond) Olson. He was born in Plymouth on May 7, 1920. He received his education at the old West School.
On June 30, 1946 in St. Anne’s Rectory at Monterey, he took as his bride the former Olive M. Reinhold. She preceded him in death on May 30, 2009.
Surviving is his son Allen W. and his wife Vonda R. Olson of Plymouth and one grandson, Blake A. and his wife Joy Olson.
While livestock and grain farming, Karl was also involved in business as a DeKalb Dealer and R.E.M.C. Director many years.
Karl enjoyed woodworking and carpentry having built the family home.
He was a member of St. Michael Roman Catholic Church and a former member of the Plymouth Moose.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 29th from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. in the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth. A Mass of Christian Burial celebrated by Pastor William Kummer will take place at 1 p.m. Tuesday in St. Michael Catholic Church, 613 N. Center St. Plymouth.
Entombment will follow in the New Oakhill Cemetery Mausoleum, Plymouth.
Memorial gifts may be given to St. Michael Church.
