Katherine Marie “Katie” Byelick, 30, of 13450 Linwood Drive, Plymouth, passed away suddenly due to natural causes on Friday afternoon in the St. Joseph Regional Medical Center – Plymouth Campus.
Katie was born on May 27, 1985 in Munster, Indiana, one of a set of triplets to Michael Steven and Patricia Mary (Lepp) Byelick. She and her family are members of St. Michael Roman Catholic Church in Plymouth. Katie attended Triton, Argos and Plymouth schools with the JESSE Program. She currently attended Marshall-Starke Development Center and was affectionately known as “the cheese girl” and Katie Cakes. Katie was a bright spot in the day for many as she enjoyed walks in the park, rides in the van, listening to music of all kinds and simply time spent with her family.
She is survived by her parents Mike and Patty of Plymouth, brothers Joseph (Theresa) Byelick of Lisle, IL, Mark Byelick of Crown Point, IN, a sister Mary Byelick of Chicago, IL, her maternal grandmother Margaret Lepp of Hobart, IN, and paternal grandmother Diana Mitchell of Plymouth. Also surviving are numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and her beloved dog “Rusty”.
Katie was preceded in death by her grandfathers; Francis A. Lepp and John R. Mitchell and great grandparents Albert and Margaret Bromberek.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 24th from 4 – 7 p.m. EDT in the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial for Katie will be held on Thursday, February 25th at 10 a.m. in St. Michael Catholic Church, 613 N. Center St., Plymouth. The Rev. John Korcsmar C.S.C. will be the celebrant.
The family would prefer memorial gifts in Katie’s name be given to Marshall/Starke Development 1901 Pidco Drive, Plymouth, IN 46563.
