Kenneth Wayne Kehr, 75, of Plymouth passed away Thursday, February 9, 2023 at his home. He was born October 16, 1947 in Goshen to Devon and Lillian Kehr. He would marry Diane Figg; she survives.
Kenneth would Honorably serve as a Seabee in the United States Navy form 1966 through 1970. In 1970 he joined the Gulfport Police Department where he was a Police Officer until 1974. He would then spend his career as a ground’s supervisor for Southern Airways, Republic Airlines, Northwest Airlines and through the merge with Delta Air where he would eventually retire in 2006. After retirement, he took a job working for Geek Squad, where, as he would say, he got to “play with computers” all day. Working on computers became a passion of his through the years which he enjoyed until his move back to Indiana in 2010.
He loved to travel, go camping and fish. He would load up the RV and go from Maine to California and everywhere in between. The joy of the adventure was not having to stay anywhere local but just finding a place to camp and fish. He did have a favorite spot when he lived in Missouri, Montauk State Park, spending countless weekends there, living outdoors and catching dinner.
The Navy took him to Gulfport, Mississippi and that is where he fell in love with the calming of the waters. There will always be a piece of him on the beaches of the gulf.
He was a true man of faith. He always played a big roll in the church, helping wherever he was needed. He loved being a part of singing or playing the bells for the choir.
He was one of the most amazing men we ever knew. He had a warm embrace, stern, deep voice and eyes filled with comfort and understanding. He would sit and talk with you for hours, never passing judgment but simply offering a listening ear.
Ken was a member of Plymouth Baptist Church in Plymouth.
