Laura M. Magnuson 69, of 1850 North Linden Road, Plymouth, Ind., went to be with her Lord at 6:50 p.m., Wednesday, April 26, 2000. Laura died at her home, where she had resided the past 48 years; in the presence and care of her family and the Marshall County Hospice.
Born on May 12, 1930, in Galien, Mich., the daughter of Ray and Dorothea Kuhl Clark, she graduated from Galien High School with the class of 1948. She was married on June 24, 1950, in Galien, Mich., as Laura Mae Clark, to Carl J. Magnuson, who survives.
Laura worked at the South Bend Bendix Corporation in the Tabulating Department for five years. She then became a homemaker and proud mother of six daughters. Cooking, sewing and gardening as well as entertaining guests brought her much joy. A member of the Calvary
Baptist Church, in LaPaz since 1963, she had served as a Sunday school teacher and Church custodian for several years.
She is survived by her husband and their six daughters; Carolyn and Marshall Fry of Ayersville, Ohio, Cindy and Art Bushen of Warsaw, Ind., Peggy and Jeffrey Riffle, Charlotte, Mich., Pat and Gordon Gilbert of Plymouth, Carla Lufkin of Forney, Texas, Cheryl and Jesse DeBoest also of Warsaw, along with fifteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Two brothers and one sister also survive; Ray “Bud” and Beulah Clark, Jr. and William “Bill” and Joyce Clark, all of Galien, Mich. and Martha and Duane Stineback of Laurel Fork, Virginia, along with several nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit with the family on Friday, April 28, 2000 from 2 – 8 p.m. in the Johnson – Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St. Plymouth, and one hour prior to the 11 a.m. service Saturday in the Calvary Baptist Church, 330 Cortland St. LaPaz, with the Pastor Mark Pittman officiating.
Memorial gifts in memory of Laura may be made to the Calvary Baptist Church or Marshall County Hospice.
Burial will be in the New Oakhill Cemetery, Plymouth.
