Lauraine Louise Aanerud, 90, died in Pilgrim Manor at 11:03 p.m. on Thursday, April 19, 2012. She had been a resident of Plymouth since 1976.
Lauraine was born in Chicago, the daughter of Louis O. and Laura I. Ehrenstrom Aanerud on December 6, 1921. At the age of 8 she originate the role and voice of “Little Orphan Annie” on Chicago radio. She graduated from Calumet High School and from Morgan Park Junior College and St. Bernard’s Hospital as an X-Ray technician. She worked at Meyer Medical Group, Chicago, for 33 years, retiring in 1976.
Lauraine was a member of the First United Church of Christ.
A gardener, she was always interested in animals, she used to board horses and was a dedicated member of the Marshall County Humane Society.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Friends are invited to visit with Lauraine’s family from 5 to 7 p.m. E.D.T. on Sunday, April 22, 2012, at the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 7 p.m. E.D.T. The Rev. AnnMarie Kneebone, pastor of the First United Church of Christ will officiate.
A graveside burial service will be held Monday at 3 p.m. C.D.T. in Oak Hill Cemetery, 115th Street and Spaulding in Blue Island, IL.
