Lavina Nerva Cunningham, 74, of Woodview Drive, Elkhart died on Thursday May 28, 2009 in her residence. She was born April 19, 1935 in Elkhart, Indiana the daughter of Charles and Estella (Ritchie) Anderson. She attended Elkhart schools.
Lavina and Robert Louis Cunningham were married on November 22, 1953 in Elkhart, Indiana.
She worked as a nurse’s aide at Parkview and St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Plymouth for 37 years. She was an avid reader, enjoyed working in her flower gardens, and visiting with family and friends.
Lavina is survived by her husband Robert, and 5 children Theresa K. & Toribio Avila; Cathy A & Rafael Rosas; Robert L. Cunningham Jr; Tammy L. & Russell Beckley; and Laura R. Rosas. 15 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren survive as well.
Friends are invited to celebrate the life of Lavina N. Cunningham on Sunday, May 31, 2009, from 3 to 7 p.m. in the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth.
Funeral services for Lavina will on Monday June 1, 2009 in the funeral home. Pastor John Birkey, will officiate.
Burial will follow in Tyner Cemetery, Tyner.
Memorial gifts in Lavina’s memory may be made to the Elkhart Center for Hospice and Palliative Care.
