TUCSON, AZ – Memorial services for former Plymouth resident, Leah Collins Heiderich, will be held on Sat. June 9, 2001 at 11 a.m. in the New Oakhill Cemetery Chapel, Plymouth. The Rev. James Campbell will officiate. A time to share with family and friends will take place one half hour prior to services in the chapel. Leah, who was born July 15, 1913 in Wanatah, Ind. to Carroll L. and Nettie Mitzner Pinney, died on Friday, April 6, 2001 at Atria Campana Del Rio, Tucson, a retirement community where she lived. On March 9, 1940 she married John B. Collins of Peotone, Ill. He died Aug. 12, 1984. She then married Ronald Heiderich on July 15, 1992. He preceded her in death on Dec. 11, 1998. Leah graduated from Riley High School in South Bend and Butler University in Indianapolis. She was a teacher at Webster and West Elementary Schools in Plymouth from 1961 to 1965. Survivors include two daughters, Kathleen Collins Orey and Mary Virginia Collins Huffman of Tucson; four granddaughters; eight great-grandchildren and a sister, Betty Lou Laramore of Plymouth. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Maureen Collins Sapp on April 20, 1970, and two brothers, Wilbur and Donald Pinney.
