Linda M. Burkholder, 79, passed away peacefully on January 4, 2024 at Brickyard Terrace Care Center in La Porte. She was born on April 21, 1944 in Plymouth to Worth and Arlene (Jacobson) Ross.
Linda graduated from North Liberty High School in 1962. She worked at Wagoner’s Wire for several years where she met her first husband, Dallas Yazel. He preceded her in death in 1978. She would go on to marry Ron Burkholder and raised their family together.
Ron and Linda owned R & L Motors for 15 years in Argos, In their retirement, they traveled the country in their RV; often visiting State Parks around the country. They resided in Florida for 5 years before returning to Plymouth.
She had an outgoing and bubbly personality and was not afraid to speak what was on her mind. Linda was always the organizer of the family. She was a faithful member of the Neighborhood Church and served as a youth group leader throughout the years.
She enjoyed gardening, tending to her flowers, and taking care of the yard. Linda also enjoyed various arts and crafts along with reading a good book.
Linda is survived by her children, Brian Yazel, Stan Yazel, Yvonne (Tim) Shanklin, Chuck (Amy)Burkholder, and Darlene (Daniel) Martin along with 13 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings Barb Mangun and Logan Ross.
Linda is preceded by her husband, Ron Burkholder and parents, Worth and Arlene.
A Celebration of Life and reception for Linda and Ron will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, January 6, 2024 at the Blissville Church of the Brethren, 6250 Spruce Trail Plymouth IN, 46563 with Loretta Schmidt officiating. Refreshments immediately to follow.
