Linda Michele Snyder, a lifetime Plymouth resident, living at 10181 Windsor Square, died of natural causes in Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, South Bend, at 12:15 a.m. on Friday, February 18, 2005.
Linda, who had fought a long and courageous battle with breast cancer, was only 57 years old. Her courage was an inspiration to everyone.
She was born in Plymouth, the beloved daughter of Robert and Betty Jane Gordon Howard, on July 15, 1947. She graduated from Plymouth High School with the class of 1965. Linda had an incredible personality and a particular talent for making people feel at ease.
On Christmas Eve of 1965, Linda and John Snyder were married in the chapel of the Trinity United Methodist Church, Plymouth. In 1990, they renewed their vows on their 25th anniversary.
After high school she worked at the Culver Bank and was a hostess at Schori’s restaurant where her mom was the manager.
She was a volunteer with the United Way campaigns and helped with her family’s rental business.
Linda enjoyed time spent at Jellystone Park. She was talented in many different arts and crafts –especially Christmas crafts and was a member of the Marshall County Whipstitchers. She and her husband, John, designed their unique home and she had an aptitude for decorating.
She was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church from the time she was a little girl.
Linda is survived by her husband, John, and by their daughter, Michele Snyder and a grandson, Trevor Roberts, all of Plymouth.
An aunt, Dora Holland, and three brothers in law and their spouses also survive. They are: Bill and Sharon and Don and Marla Snyder, all of Plymouth and Gene and Gladys Snyder, of Argos. A sister-in-law, Sharon Powell, Argos, survives as well.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, an infant brother and Rose Ann O’Dell, a sister-in-law.
Friends will be welcomed by the family to share their memories of Linda from 3 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, February 20, 2005, at the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth.
Funeral services for Linda will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Monday, February 21, 2005 with calling beginning at 1:30, at the Trinity United Methodist Church, S. Michigan at Williams St., Plymouth. The Reverends William Kaster and Charles Green will officiate.
Interment will be in Oakhill Cemetery, Plymouth.
Memorial gifts in Linda’s name may be made to the Bremen Dollars for Scholars Fund, the Three C’s Scholarship, or the Trinity United Methodist Church.
