Lois K. Rohrer

Lois K. Rohrer, 80, a Gibson St. resident, passed away of natural causes in St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Plymouth, at 8:06 p.m. on Thursday, June 7, 2012.

Lois was born in Plymouth on September 13, 1931, to Harry E. and Goldie N. (Reed) Rohrer.

She graduated from Plymouth’s Lincoln High School with the Class of 1949 and then attended Manchester College.

Lois was a phone operator for AT&T for 37 ½ years, retiring in 1989.

A world traveler, she visited Africa, Europe, Australia, New Zealand and the Holy Land among others.

A devoted member of the Plymouth Church of the Brethren, she looked forward to attending the annual conferences. She enjoyed both classical and religious music and shopping. She was an organist and piano player for her church for many years and played the violin in the Manchester Symphony. Lois is survived by a brother, Dennis O. (Mary E.) Rohrer of Greenup, IL, a nephew, Steven M. (Roberta A.) Rohrer, a niece, Denise A Rohrer, all of North Manchester. Two great nieces: Stephanie Rohrer, Alexis A. Rohrer, also survive.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 10th from 2 – 5 p.m. in the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Monday, June 11th in the Plymouth Church of the Brethren where calling will resume 1 hour prior to services in the church. Pastor Ruth Yoder will officiate with internment to follow in the New Oakhill Cemetery, Plymouth.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be given to the Plymouth Church of the Brethren, 1130 N. Michigan St. Plymouth, IN 46563, in Lois’ memory.
