Louise M. Hindman, 88, 6700 North Oak Road, Plymouth, died of natural causes at 8:50 a.m. on Sunday, November 27, 2005, in the Pilgrim Manor Nursing Home, Plymouth.
Louise was born in Chicago, Ill., on January 21, 1917. She was the daughter of Walter and Louise Rosenstiel Colvin. She graduated from Argos High School with the class of 1935.
On August 4, 1941, in Plymouth, Louise and Elson “Babe” Hindman were married.
In addition to being a super mom to their four children, Louise was co-owner and bookkeeper, since 1949, of the Hindman Sewer Service business.
She was dedicated as one of Jehovah’s Witness and loved teaching others about the message of the Bible. She had the privilege of introducing many to what God promises for all mankind: Of life without end at last on earth.
Louise enjoyed gardening and, according to her family, “keeping her husband in line!”
She is survived by “Babe” Hindman, her devoted husband of sixty-four years, and by their daughter, three sons and their spouses.
They are: Linda Hindman Querry and her husband, Don, Wheatland, Wyoming: Harold M and Sandy Hindman, Muncie, Ind., Robert and Linda Hindman, Dallas, Texas, Dr. Michael (Mick) and Shana Hindman, Norfolk, Neb. Louise is also survived by 14 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. A sister, Katherine and Jim Reeves, Warsaw, Ind., and two brothers, Dr. Irving and Roberta Colvin, Orlando, Fla. and Everett and Jane Colvin, Plymouth, Ind. survive as well.
Louise was preceded in death by her parents and by a son, Leon Hindman, who died in 1950, and a great-granddaughter, Annie Lynne Perry. Two brothers, Walter and Benjamin Colvin and a sister, Mignon Colvin have also died before her.
Friends will be welcomed to celebrate the life of Louise Hindman from 3 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, November 29, 2005, in the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth, Ind.
Funeral services for Louise will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, November 30, 2005, in the funeral home. Robert Morie of the Plymouth Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses where Louise was a long-time member, will officiate.
Burial will be in New Oakhill Cemetery, Plymouth.
