Margaret V. “Peggy” Pozorski, 82, a longtime resident of 616 E. Marion St. Mishawaka , died at her home Saturday, October 12th of natural causes.
Peggy was born in Sauk Rapids, Minn. on May 8, 1920 , the daughter of Felix M. and Gertrude V. Ostrowski Pozorski. As a child the family moved to Indiana and she graduated with the Class of 1939 from Monterey High School . She then completed courses at the South Bend Business College .
Her career with the Ball Band/Uniroyal Corp. of Mishawaka spanned over four decades in her employment department position of Industrial Relations. Peggy was proud of the company and joined other employees playing on the Ball Band softball and bowling teams.
An active person, Peggy enjoyed hunting, fishing, flower gardening and even canning homemade soup. Coming from a family of ten, she took great interest in the lives of her many nieces, nephews, great and great-great.
A member of the Roman Catholic Church, St. Michael’s in Plymouth was her Parish Church .
Survivors include three brothers; Ambrose M. Pozorski of Plymouth , Lawrence (Ardith) Pozorski of Warsaw, Francis (Kathleen) Pozorski of Kokomo and four sisters; Sr. Mary Victoria Pozorski, a Sister of St. Agnes Convent, Fond Du Lac , Wis. , Florence “Polly” (Marion P.) Matthews of Winfield , Kansas , Mary Ann Best of Indianapolis Evelyn Pozorski of Plymouth . Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Berniece H. Davis and a brother Stanley Pozorski.
Friends may call at the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St. Plymouth from 4 – 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 16th where a Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. following visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. William Kummer, Pastor at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 17th in St. Michael Catholic Church, 625 N. Center St. Plymouth .
Burial will be in the New Oakhill Cemetery , Plymouth .
Memorial gifts in Peggy’s memory may be made to St. Michael Church or the charity of the donor’s choice.
