A resident of Pilgrim Manor Nursing Home, Plymouth, Marguerite M. Wilke, 78, died there of natural causes, at 6:35 a.m. Friday, July 22, 2005. She was a former resident of the Mayflower Care Center.
Marguerite was born the daughter of Walter and Cleo (Schidet) Scallan on February 2, 1927 in Olney, Texas. Moving to Indiana she was a graduate of Indianapolis Tech.
In 1943 she became the bride of Frank W. Wilke of Indianapolis, he would precede her in death in 1994.
She had resided in Greentown, Ind. from 1950 to 1985 and was employed by the Kokomo Federal Credit Union for 15 years. She retired as the assistant manager and moved to Chapman Lake near Warsaw.
While residing in Greentown she was a member of the Meridian Street Church and active in the Woman’s Circle. Following her move to northern Indiana she attended Christ the King Church in South Bend.
Living at the lake, time with family and cooking brought her much joy.
Surviving is her daughter; Georgina and husband Larry Wright of Indianapolis, a son Michael Wilke of Plymouth, along with four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her spouse and a son, Frank Wilke Jr.
There will be no visitation or services at this time. A family committal service will take place at a later date.
