Marie Robbins, 94, 721 W. Washington St., died of natural causes in Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, Plymouth, on Friday, Oct. 5, 2007.
Born in Prague, Czechoslovakia, on April 25, 1913, Marie was the daughter of Josef and Wilhemina Sevestic Hanak.
On Nov. 16, 1935, in Peru, Ind., Marie became the bride of Norman “Dick” Robbins. Dick died on Sept. 15, 1970.
Educated in the Grovertown school system, she also attended Edith Head Designer School, Los Angles, California
A homemaker, Marie was a fashion designer and seamstress. She had lived in Los Angles, Calif., for eight years and in Hamlet, Ind., for 20 years. She had also lived in West Township in Marshall County since 1956.
Marie is survived by a daughter, Lena W. (Ed) Newman and by two sons: Norman (Marsha) Robbins and Joe H. Robbins, Sr., all of Plymouth, Ind. A sister, Wilma Hanak, San Pierre, Indiana survives as well.
Thirteen grand-children, 28 great-grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren, plus numerous nephews and nieces survive as well.
She was preceded in death by her husband and a daughter, Norma M. Wagoner. Several great-grandchildren have also died before her.
Friends are invited by her family to celebrate Marie’s life on Sunday, Oct. 7, 2007, from 3 to 6 p.m. in the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth, Ind.
Funeral services for Marie will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 8, 2007, in the funeral home. The Rev. Lonnie Nicholl pastor of First Baptist Church, Plymouth, Indiana will officiate.
Burial will be in the Eagle Creek Cemetery, Knox, Ind. Memorial gifts in Marie’s memory may be made to charity of the donor’s choice.
