Marjorie L. Ladig, 71, of Knox, Ind., died in Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne, Ind., at 2:10 p.m. on Wednesday, October 27, 2004. A resident of Knox since 1988, coming from Chicago, she died due to an occupational accident at her workplace.
Marjorie was born at home in Plymouth on August 30, 1933. She was the daughter of George William Sr. and Elizabeth Edith Cox Mlnarik.
She graduated from Knox High School in 1951 and took business courses in Chicago following her graduation.
Marjorie worked in the Chicago Sears Roebuck & Co. store for 25 years. She was an assistant buyer in the purchasing department and traveled extensively through her job. She has worked periodically in the Del Monte plant in Plymouth since 1999.
Very creative, Marjorie was talented in painting and crafting. One of her specialties was decorating gourds. She always enjoyed traveling, both in the United States and abroad.
She was a member of the Episcopal Church.
Marjorie is survived by Maryann Sherman, a sister, living in South Bend. A nephew, Rodney L. Sherman, South Bend, and six nieces also survive. They are: Cheryl A. Eiszner, Indianapolis; Janice L. Adkins, South Bend; Debra M. Mlnarik, Georgia; Patricia S. Bitterman, Lemont, Ill.; Sally A. Haack, Illinois and Donna L. Scott, Florida.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Douglas Ladig who died in 1980, two sisters, Betty L. Southard and Evelyn V. West and a brother, George D. Mlnarik Jr. The family will receive friends from noon to 1 p.m. on Saturday, October 30, 2004, in the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth.
Memorial services will follow visitation at 1 p.m. on Saturday.
Interment will be in the Bohemian National Cemetery, Chicago at a later date.
