Marlene Marie Thompson

Marlene Marie (Personette) Thompson passed away peacefully on March 23, 2025 with her family by her side. She was born in Winamac on November 2, 1946 to Howard and Goldean (Watson) Personette. She graduated from Oregon Davis High School in 1964. She was married to Terry Thompson July 29, 1967 for 38 years.

Marlene was a self taught bookkeeper. She was a long time employee of L&H Farm Fertilizer, New Energy Plant, McIntyre Trucking, along with various other places. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the V.F.W. and American Legion in Plymouth. As the kids were growing up, many weekends were spent going to the dances. Her life was spent working and taking care of her home and family. She was a great cook; she will be remembered for her chicken and noodles. In her spare time she loved to read (an avid Harry Potter fan) and was very talented with crochet. She passed along her love of music to her children.

Marlene was preceded in death by her parents, stillborn sister Toni Ann, brothers-in-law Todd Thompson, Stuart Thompson and sister-in-law Janet Thompson. She is survived by Terry Thompson and their three children, Audra (Jim) Brennan, Erick (Amelia) Thompson, and Stephanie Thompson. She is also survived by her five grandchildren: Heather Braniff, Kevin (Tricia) Brennan, Brandon Thompson, Emily Thompson, and Brian (Tyra) Mora and also 5 great-grandchildren: Claire Braniff, Ethan Braniff, Kennedy Brennan, Laci Mora, and Luxton Mora due in July. She is also survived by her dear brother Norman (Carolyn) Personette and nephew Jeff (Tawnya) Personette. Over the years, she enjoyed many trips to visit them in Florida where long talks and laughter were exchanged with their families. Marlene is also survived by her brother-in-laws: David Thompson, Douglas Thomspon, and sister-in-laws: Melita Thompson, Barbara Thompson & Rhonda Thompson, and many nieces & nephews.

Marlene will be cremated and laid to rest in Crown Hill Cemetery in Knox, Indiana. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, April 13, 2025 from 1-4PM at the American Legion Post 27, 1040 E. Jefferson Street, Plymouth, IN 46563. 

"Remember me with smiles and laughter. For that shall be the way I will remember you all. If you can only remember me with tears, then don't remember me at all."
