Mary Ann Penrose, 80, died of natural causes at 11:20 a.m. on Friday, July 19, 2013, at Millers Merry Manor, Wakarusa.
Mary Ann was born on December 13, 1932, in South Bend, the daughter of Vernon B. and Helen Kaufman Baer. On August 15, 1977, in Plymouth, Marry Ann and Roy Penrose were married. Roy preceded her in death on May 14, 2009.
Mary Ann was a member of the Calvary Evangelical Lutheran Church in Plymouth.
Mary Ann had worked at Bendix in South Bend, Stauffer Chemical in Bremen, Kroger in Plymouth and had babysat for numerous children. She enjoyed gardening and reading.
Mary Ann is survived by five daughters and two sons. Her daughters are: Debra Freed and Donna (Mel) Hawkins, both of Nappanee; Laura (Phil) England and Michallie (Steve) Forsythe, both of Bremen and Linda Lee Hoffman of Maryland. Her sons are: David (Ellen) Staton of Plymouth and Jason Allen (Debra) Penrose of Bremen.
Fourteen grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren survive.
Mary Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Roy; a son, Roy, Jr. and a son-in-law, Greg Freed.
Funeral services for Mary Ann will be on Saturday, July 27, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in the Calvary Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1314 N. Michigan Street, Plymouth where friends may call one hour prior to the service. The Rev. Steven Resner, pastor of the church, will officiate.
