Mary Louise Hiester, 91, of W. Adams St., Plymouth, died at 12:25 a.m. on Monday, June 27, 2005 in Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, Plymouth.
Mary, a lifetime Plymouth resident, was born on October 4, 1913, the daughter of Fred and Ida Snyder John, Sr. She graduated from Plymouth High School.
On August 27, 1939, in Plymouth, Mary and Robert “Bob” Hiester began a marriage of nearly 61 years before Bob’s death on June 1, 2000. Together, Mary and Bob owned Hiester’s Superette for 40 years, retiring in 1981. After their retirement, they spent sixteen winters in Bradenton, Fla.
Mary is survived by two children and six grandchildren. They are a daughter, Julie A. and David McLiver and their children: David (Ashley), Jack, Jarom and Amy, all of Plymouth, and a son, John F. and Debra Hiester and their children: Johnathan and Cassie, all of Logansport. A sister, Virginia Voreis of Plymouth, also survives.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and a brother and a sister.
Visitation will be on Thursday, June 30, 2005 from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth.
Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Friday, July 1, 2005 at 3:00 p.m.
Entombment will be in the New Oakhill Mausoleum, Plymouth.
Memorial gifts in Mary’s memory may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the Lion’s Club.
