Mary Ruth Longmire, 67, 600 Washington, Wabash, Ind., formerly of Knoxville, Tennessee died of natural causes at 2:03 p.m. on Sunday, June 16, 2002, in the American Living Center, Wabash, Ind. Mary Ruth was born on Dec. 9, 1934, in Knoxville, Tenn. She was the daughter of Sherman and Shirley Brunch Holmes. A homemaker who enjoyed gardening, Mary Ruth loved country music, especially George Jones. An animal lover, she was a friend to all animals, especially dogs and horses. She was a member of a Tennessee Baptist Church. Mary Ruth is survived by a daughter, Marilyn and Randy Craven of Fulton, Ind., and a son, Lawrence Eugene “Gene” Longmire, Warsaw. A granddaughter, Gina Longmire of Bremen, and grandson Jason Longmire, Warsaw survive as well as her sister, Helen McGill of Knoxville, Tenn. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Evelyn McCollough, and two brothers, Bob and Leon Holmes. Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. on Thursday, June 20, 2002, in the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth. Funeral services for Mary Ruth will follow visitation at 3 p.m. on Thursday. The Rev. Charles Krieg will officiate. Burial will be in New Oakhill Cemetery. Memorial gifts may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
