Melinda Kay Dunlap Robinson Campbell of Plymouth passed away on May 26, 2018 in Louisville, Kentucky. Melinda was born in Argos Indiana to the late Edward H. and Rae Louise (Umbaugh) Dunlap on April 13, 1939. Melinda graduated from Plymouth High School in 1957 and went on to attend Stephens College, Skidmore College and Indiana University earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts. She was a talented fabric designer working in Chicago with firms in the Merchandise Mart and later married John Damian Robinson and had three children. She is remembered in love by her husband, James Campbell of Plymouth; children John Edward Robinson (Sarah) of Plymouth, Alan Robinson (Beth) of Nashville, Tennessee and Galia Robinson Chandler (Dan) of Louisville, Kentucky; sisters Nancy Dunlap Hoon and Patricia Dunlap Hamalainen; and grandchildren, Gus, Celia, Poppy, Sawyer, Meg, & Becket. Melinda was preceded in death by her parents and late husband, John Damian Robinson.
Visitation will be held from 11-1 p.m. on Wednesday, June 6, 2018 in the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan Street, Plymouth. Funeral services will follow in the funeral home at 1 p.m. with Rev. Dr. David Smook officiating. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Melinda’s life. Burial will be in the New Oak Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the donor’s choice in her name.
