Michael T. Raffin, Sr., 58, a Plymouth resident since 1994, died at 10:38 a.m. on Sunday, January 14, 2007, from natural causes, in Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, Plymouth. Mike had resided in Lansing, Illinois prior to moving to Plymouth.
The son of Bruno and Shirley Young Raffin, Mike was born on April 6, 1948, in Chicago, Illinois. He was a graduate of Mendel High School in Chicago, and had attended the University of Illinois.
On August 31, 1974, in Chicago, Mike and Susan Skiller were married.
Mike had worked in construction for many years. His hobbies were astronomy, gardening and stamp collecting.
He was a member of St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus.
Mike and Susan are the parents of a son, Michael T. Raffin, Jr. of Plymouth, and two daughters: Gina Marie Raffin of Clearwater, Florida and Angela Lyn Raffin of Plymouth.
A grandson, Braxton James Raffin of Plymouth and a brother, Thomas G. Raffin of Minnesota also survive.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents and a granddaughter, Felicity Marie Raffin.
Friends are invited to celebrate Mike’s life and share memories with his family on Friday, January 19, 2007 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church, 625 N. Center St., Plymouth
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held following visitation, at 12:00 p.m. Friday, in the Church.
Burial will be in St. Michael’s Cemetery, Plymouth.
Memorial gifts in Mike’s name may be made to St. Michael’s School.
