Mildred G. Shively, 83, of 1027 Warana Drive, Plymouth, died at 10:14 p.m. on Saturday, August 31, 2002 at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Plymouth, of natural causes. An area resident most of her life, Millie was born in Bourbon, Ind. , on July 26, 1919 , the daughter of Charles H. and Della Mae Whittemore Amones. She was a 1937 graduate of Lincoln High School , Plymouth . On February 1, 1940 , in Etna Green, Mildred and Wayne O. Shively were married; he preceded her in death on December 29, 1999 . She had worked at Swearingen’s Shoe Store, Bosworth’s, and had been a co-owner of the Plymouth Credit Bureau. Millie was an avid golfer, and enjoyed watching golf, basketball, and Notre Dame football on television. She and Wayne spent 22 winters in Avon Park , Florida , where they both enjoyed playing golf. She was a member of the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary, Plymouth . Millie is survived by her son, Dan (Nickey) Shively of Plymouth, two grandsons, Tyler Wayne Shively and Michael C. (Paula) Shivley, all of Plymouth, Syndie Darnell, a step granddaughter of New Carlisle, and Jay (Katy) Darnell, a step grandson of Plymouth, along with six great grandchildren. A sister, Beatrice Anders of Plymouth , and a brother, Harold (Betty) Amones of Bixby , Oklahoma , also survive. Millie was preceded in death by her parents, her spouse, brothers Donald, Gerald, Eldon, Dwain and Charles Amones, sisters Donna Jean Brundige, Venus Chenoweth, Margaret Ames and Geraldine Zimmerman. Friends may visit with Millie’s family on Wednesday, September 4, 2002 from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St. , Plymouth . The funeral service, officiated by the Rev. Charles Krieg, pastor of the Bremen Salem United Methodist Church , will be in the funeral home on Thursday, September 5, 2002 at 1 p.m. Burial will be in New Oakhill Cemetery , Plymouth . Memorial gifts in Millie’s name may be made to Plymouth V.F.W. ladies auxiliary or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
