Nathan J. Rhodes, 62, of Dixon Lake Trail, Plymouth, passed away at his residence on Wednesday, June 11, 2014. Nathan was born on June 24, 1951 in Plymouth, Indiana and was the son of Ervin G. Rhodes and Kathryn (Meek) Rhodes. Nathan attended Plymouth schools before he enlisted for the United States Army. Nathan worked at SKF – Bremen Bearing in Plymouth for over 20 years. He also loved getting involved with activities that required him to use his hands; he made many of his own tools to work with and loved to invent things. Nathan also spent time being a volunteer assistant for organizations and churches around the area. Nathan is survived by his brothers; Calvin J. Rhodes of Walkerton, Garland G. Rhodes of Indianapolis and James G. Rhodes of Plymouth and his sisters; Connie Struble of Wisconsin, Alberta & Larry Lines of Chesterton, Jane K. & Donnie Gillum of Flatwood, Kentucky, Donna L. Rhodes of Winamac, Aquila Rhodes of Westville, Lisa Rhodes of Gary and Ruby I. Elam of Michigan City along with his brother-in-law, Larry Harner of Plymouth and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Arthur Rhodes and sisters Lela R. Harner, Pricilla Rhodes and Aretha Rhodes. Family and friends will gather at the Newton Center, 601 N. Michigan St., Lakeville, Indiana at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 21st to celebrate his life.
