Norbert R. “Bogie” Boguslawski, 76, passed away in his home with his loving wife and family by his side on Wednesday morning, February 11, 2015 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Chicago, Illinois on February 14, 1938, Bogie was the youngest son born to Sylvester and Cecelia (Makowski) Boguslawski. He graduated from Chicago Vocational High School.
Spec. N. “Bogie” Boguslawski served his country proudly in the U.S. Army in the 168 Combat Engineers as a demolition specialist and a 50 caliber machine gunner in Stuttgart, Germany from 1956 until his Honorable Discharge in 1959.
On September 28, 1968 Bogie took Marianna Colangelo to be his wife.
Bogie worked for U.S. Steel until his retirement. He then served on the Culver EMS as a volunteer, a part of his life that was really special to him. He was also an active member at the St. Mary of the Lake Church in Culver, Indiana
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Marianna of Plymouth and his sister, Dolores Sullivan of New Carlisle, IN. Also surviving are his in-laws, RoseMarie (William) Vantwoud of Plymouth, Antoinette Colangelo of Plymouth, Grace Boguslawski of Orland Park, IL, and numerous niece and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Adalbert, and brother-in-law, Thomas Sullivan.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. EST on Saturday, February 28, 2015 in the St. Mary of the Lake Church, 124 College Avenue, Culver, Indiana.
A Private Burial with Military Honors provided by members of the Veterans of Foreign Wars- Culver Post 6919 will be held.
