Patricia Ann Baker, 85, passed away peacefully on February 18, 2025 at Pilgrim Manor in Plymouth. She was the daughter of Alfred and Kit (Wyatt) Irwin, born on December 13, 1939 in Indianapolis.
Patt's journey through life was marked by her dedication to family and her unwavering spirit. A proud graduate of Mishawaka High School, she furthered her education at the South Bend College of Commerce. On June 10, 1978, she united her life with Robert Baker in South Bend, blending their families together with love, laughter, and cherished memories that will forever echo in the hearts of those who knew her.
In her leisure time, she found joy in reading and doting on her cherished pet parrot and cockatiel, Reba and Pepper. In her teenage years, Patt was in a singing competition along with being on the televised Ted Mack Amateur Hour in Chicago when she was 16.; a passion that carried on throughout her life. Patt had a fondness for gardening and canning the various product she grew. She raised many Beagles throughout her life, each one leaving paw prints on her heart.
As the seasons changed, so did her interests—fall meant cheering for Notre Dame or the Chicago Bears, while the arrival of spring brought excitement for the Daytona 500, where she rooted for her favorite driver, Jeff Gordon. Patt was known for her outgoing nature; she had a gift for conversation and never met a stranger. Her kindness radiated in every aspect of her life, and she was known for her heartfelt encouragement, often reminding her children to "keep your daubers up," a gentle nudge to lift their spirits and embrace positivity.
Patt is survived by her husband, Bob; children, Michael (Donna) Toombs, Jodi (Chuck) White, Dawn (Dan) Molnar, and Jill (Joe) Horvath; grandchildren, Olivia, Ross, Jade, Jamie, Jess, and Jason; along with 11 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Alford and Mary; son, Mark Toombs, and her beloved birds, Reba and Pepper.
Patt will be laid to rest at a later date at Oakhill Cemetery in Plymouth.
