Patricia R. Polinski, 85, of 905 Berkley St., Plymouth, died in the Moore Regional Medical Center, North Carolina, on December 13, 2008.
Born on May 31, 1923, in Wilkes-Barre, PA., Patricia was the daughter of Raymond L. and Mary Muldowney Burke.
She graduated from St. Mary’s High School in Wiles-Barre in 1942, and worked for social services in Washington D.C., from 1944 to 1945.
On August 15, 1950, in Jim Thorpe, PA. Patricia and Edward Polinski were married. Edward died in 1988.
In 1969, she worked for the St. Joseph County’s Sherriff’s Dept. for 9 years and, was a secretary to the Juvenile Probation Dept., Patricia was Activities Assistant at Miller’s Merry Manor in Plymouth.
A member of St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church, Patricia worked with the Altar and Rosary Society and the Harvest House. She also helped to cook for the church’s funeral dinners.
Patricia enjoyed reading, sewing and water coloring along with her cooking and baking skills.
She is survived by a son and a daughter: John A. (Kathy) Polinski, Plymouth, and Patricia (Dave) Kennedy, Cameron, N.C.
Six grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren..
Patricia was preceded in death by five sisters and three brothers.
Friends are invited to share memories and celebrate the life of Patricia with her family on Thursday December 18, 2008 from 4 to 7 p.m., and continue after 7:00 am of Friday December 19, 2008 at the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 pm on Thursday December 18, 2008
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday at 11 am in St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church, 612 N. Walnut St., Plymouth. The Rev. Father William Kummer, pastor of the church, will officiate.
Interment will be in Southlawn Cemeter, South Bend, IN.
Memorial contributions in memory of Patricia may be given to St. Michael’s Catholic Church.
