After a brave battle with Metachromatic Leukodystrophy (MLD), 12-year-old Paula Faith Guzzo was welcomed into the loving arms of Jesus at Woodlawn Hospital, Rochester, Indiana, at 7:36 a.m. on Monday, March 8, 2010.
Paula was born at the Woodlawn Hospital on March 27, 1997. She was the daughter of Thomas Guzzo and Janet Brosmer Guzzo.
An honor roll student at Knox Middle School, she was in the 7th grade. She loved school and was a social butterfly. She loved company and had a wonderful laugh and a great sense of humor.
Even though she was confined to her wheelchair, she loved speed and was a real daredevil.
A Girl Scout, she liked to go camping, fishing and boating and loved all music, but was especially found of country. She was a member of Culver’s Wesley United Methodist Church where she had been baptized.
Paula is survived by her parents, Thomas and Janet and by her sister, Taylor Cheyenne Guzzo, Plymouth.
Also surviving are her maternal grandparents, Richard and JoAnn Smith, Plymouth and Robert and Beverly Brosmer, Granger.
Her paternal grandparents are Thomas and Becky Guzzo, Sr., Bremen and Katherine Guzzo, Rochester, along with numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Friends will be welcomed by Paula’s family from 4 to 6 p.m. on Thursday, March 11, 2010, at the Wesley United Methodist Church, 511 School St., Culver.
Funeral services for Paula will be held following visitation on Thursday, March at 6 p.m. in the church. The Rev. Larry Saunders will officiate.
