Peg L. Kaufman, a lifetime Plymouth area resident, took ill at her mother’s home and died unexpectedly in Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, Plymouth, at 9:52 p.m. on Wednesday, May 28, 2008.
Born in Plymouth on May 10, 1958, Peg was the daughter of Lowell J. and Patsy L. (Booker) Kaufman.
She graduated from LaVille High School with the class of 1976.
For the past seven years Peg was a retail sales clerk for Wal-Mart. She loved her job and dealing with people. They loved her back.
She had been a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Plymouth.
She was a published poet, enjoyed music and playing golf and was an avid fan of the Chicago White Sox and the Chicago Bears.
Peg is survived by her mother, a sister, Lori (Dr. John Jr.) Bottorff of Crawfordsville, Ind., two nephews; John Kaufman Bottorff and Bryant Michael Bottorff and a niece; Angela Marie Bottorff.
A great aunt, Dorothy Vermillion, Plymouth, and several cousins also survive.
Peg was preceded in death by her father, her maternal grandparents, Marion and Mabel Booker and her paternal grandparents, John A. and Gertrude Olive Kaufman.
Friends are invited to share memories of Peg with her family on Sunday, June 1, 2008, from 1 to 3 p.m., at the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth.
Funeral services will follow visitation at 3 p.m. on Sunday in the funeral home. The Rev. Father William Kummer, pastor of St. Michael’s Catholic Church, will officiate.
Interment will be in New Oakhill Cemetery, Plymouth.
