Phyllis Jo Westfall, 92, passed on Monday, May 6, 2024, at Saint Anthony Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Lafayette, IN.
Born at home on June 16, 1931, she was the daughter of Harry and Faye (Smith) Davis. She graduated from Roosevelt High School in Monticello, IN in 1949. On June 7, 1953, in Kokomo, IN, she married Pete Westfall. He preceded her in death on January 19, 2012.
Phyllis worked both in and out of the home. Her family was most important, and she was always there for them attending events of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was active in scouting and school activities with her children. Outside of the home she worked for Bosworth’s and H&R Block in Plymouth.
She was a woman of faith, a prior member of the First United Church of Christ, serving in many volunteer roles. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
Her surviving family includes three children and their spouses: Steven (Sharon) Westfall, Diana ‘Kay’ (Gene) Cords, and Larry (Elizabeth) Westfall. She was blessed with grandchildren: Bryce, Jessica, David (Krysta), Peter (Madeliene) Westfall, Travis (Cassie), Brant (Miranda) Cords, and Tara (Chad) Dahlenburg, and great grandchildren Noah, Kinley, Devyn and Quinn Dahlenburg, Ryker and Berkley Cords, and Amelia and James Westfall. Her cousin, Mary Jane Porter, was like a sister to her.
Visitation will be held on Monday May 20, 2024, from 10:30 to 11:30 with a service immediately following at the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan Street, Plymouth IN 46563. James Ketchen will officiate. A graveside service will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery, Plymouth.
