January 20, 1963 — March 24, 2021

Raelene M. Cooley, 58, passed away on Wednesday March 24, 2021 at Indiana University Health Hospital, Indianapolis.

Born on January 20, 1963 in Ft. Wayne, Indiana she was the daughter of Larry Christman and Patsy Torres. She attended Ft. Wayne Northrop High School graduating with the class of 1982. On September 6, 1986 she married Dan at his house in Inwood.

Raelene was a self-employed seamstress for many years making and altering wedding dresses and women’s and men’s clothing. She owned Rae’s Country Cupboard restaurant and Rae’s Baked Goods in Milford for numerous years.  Raelene was well known for her cooking and baking, never turning away a dissatisfied customer. A true pioneer who enjoyed making her own hand and laundry soap. She raised goats and chickens, with dreams of raising cows and chickens. Having a green thumb as well, she grew tomatoes, hot peppers, apple and peach trees, cherry and grapes. Loved to fish and hunt deer and no issue with field dressing the deer that she killed.

She is survived by her husband Dan of Milford; mother Patsy (Frank) Torres of Ft. Wayne, IN; sons: Christopher (Elizabeth) Welch of McCordsville, IN; Josh Cooley of Milford; sisters: Wendy (Mike Looman) Clark of Garrett, IN; Christina (Kary) Hunter of Osceola, IN; Kerry (Chad) King of New Smyrna, FL; brothers: Steven Johns of Ft. Wayne; Leon (Tami) Christman of Delphi, IN; grandchildren: Katelyn, Addalyn, Emmalyn, Tanner, Brooklyn and Makayla as well as several nieces and nephews.

Raelene is preceded in death by her brother Wesley Johns and sister Marsha Christman.
