The funeral for Ralph S. Hill, 80, 1031 West Adams St., Plymouth, will be on Sunday, January 23, 2000, at 2 p.m. in the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth. The Rev. Edgar Bailey, Ralph’s brother-in-law from Knox, will officiate.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday, January 22, 2000, from 4 to 8 p.m.
Ralph died at 9:45 a.m. on Thursday, January 20, 2000, in the Hospice House of St. Joseph county where he had been a patient for two days with a cancer-related illness.
A lifetime Plymouth resident, Ralph was born in Plymouth on January 8, 1920, the son of John M. and Mary E. Linderman Hill. He attended Eagle Creek School.
On June 3, 1944, in Plymouth, he and Elsie E. Bailey were married.
A truck driver all of his adult life, Ralph retired from Pilgrim Farms in 1985 after 20 years of service.
He enjoyed watching wrestling, tractor and horse pulls.
Ralph is survived by his wife, Elsie, and their three children: Richard S. Hill and Diane Sue and James O’Brien, all of Plymouth and James E. and Sue Hill of Fairfield, Ohio.
Seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren and Clara M. Mangun, a sister, of Plymouth, also survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Charles and Marian Hill and a sister, Ellen Hill.
Burial will take place in New Oakhill Cemetery, Plymouth.
