Richard J. Uceny

Richard J. Uceny, 86, of Plymouth died unexpectedly on Saturday morning. He was born in Chicago on May 1, 1927, the son of John and Henrietta Uceny. There he received his education and during WWII he served in the U.S. Marine Corps. On September 26th 1948 in Plymouth he took as his bride the former Betty L. Billhimer and would become the parents of four children. They are: son Larry R. & Jill Uceny of Plymouth, son Martin G. & Brenda Uceny of Plymouth and their children; Matthew & fiancé Nicole, Alex and Morgan, daughter Karla R. & Terry Beatty of Tippecanoe and children; Chad & Kim Vermillion and Tracy Montgomery, daughter Dawne M. & Greg Colbart of Fremont, Indiana and their sons Travis and Tyler. Five great-grandchildren also survive along with a brother John Uceny of Valparaiso, Indiana. He was preceded in death by one sister Evelyn Brown.

Richard enjoyed farming and had retired from NIPSCO.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 29th from 5 – 8 p.m. in the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth.

Family services will take place with burial in the New Oakhill Cemetery, Plymouth.
