Roger W. Schroeder, after a long illness due to cancer, died at his home, 10649 US 6, Bremen, at 4:33 a.m. on Tuesday, May 25, 2004.
He was born in Plymouth, Ind., on December 8, 1949. He was the son of Earl W. and Diana D. Holland Schroeder. He graduated from LaVille High School with the class of 1968.
Roger served in the United States Air Force and was stationed in Holland and in Germany.
He worked for Blounts Auto Salvage and was disabled in 2002.
An auto mechanic, he enjoyed auto racing.
He was a member of the American Legion Post #385 of LaPaz, Ind.
Roger is survived by a son, Mike Swathwood and by two brothers: Rex Schroeder, Bremen, and Mike and Dee Ann Schroeder, Plymouth, Ind. Several nieces and nephews survive as well.
Roger was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends will be welcomed by his family at the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth, on Thursday, May 27, 2004, from 4 to 7 p.m.
Funeral services for Roger will follow visitation at 7 p.m. in the funeral home. The Rev. John Gantt, pastor of the Plymouth Church of Christ, will officiate.
Military graveside honors by the LaPaz American Legion Post will be accorded to Roger in the Fairmont Cemetery, Plymouth.
Memorial gifts in Roger’s memory may be made to the Marshall County Hospice.
