Ronald Y. Burkholder, 81, passed away peacefully at Autumn Trace on Wednesday, December 20, 2023.
Ron was born in Frankfort, Indiana on August 4, 1942 to Willard and Winnie Burkholder.
As a young boy Ron helped out on his grandparents farm and then granduated from Tyner High School. After graduating he went on to become an accomplished machinist. In 1970 he moved to Arizona to continue working as a machinist-moving back to Indiana in 1977 where he went to work for Bendix in South Bend and was also a used car dealer in Argos for many years until he retired from both. After retirement Ron and Linda spent several years travelling in their RV seeing the country, settling for a spell in Florida, ultimately returning to Plymouth where he lived out his remaining years.
He is survived by his wife Linda Burkholder; 2 daughters:Yvonne (Tim) Shanklin, Darlene (Daniel) Martin; son Chuck (Amy) Burkholder; 2 step-sons: Brian and Stan Yazel. Also fondly remembered by 3 brothers: Alan, Randy, and Arden Burkholder; sister Laverne (Mick) Replogle, 13 grandchildren and 27 great -grandchildren.
Ron is preceded in death by his first wife Beverly Burkholder

A Celebration of Ron’s Life and reception will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, January 6, 2024 at the Blissville Church of the Brethren, 6250 Spruce Trail Plymouth IN, 46563 with Loretta Schmidt officiating. Refreshments immediately to follow.
