Roy W. Jackson, 64, a one-year resident of Extenda Care Nursing Center, 2402 E. Center St., Warsaw, died at 7:20 p.m. on Thursday, May 4, 2000, in the Hospice Home of North-East Indiana at Fort Wayne. Roy died of natural causes following an illness.
A former resident of Marshall and Starke Counties, Roy was born in LaPorte County on June 2, 1935 the son of Roy Edward and Irene Ellen Schoof Jackson.
He served in the United States Army during peacetime.
Roy had owned and operated the Jackson Tire Shop in Culver and then worked for 15 years as a welder at McCord Corp., retiring in 1988.
An outdoors person, he loved fishing.
Roy is survived by a son, daughter and two sisters.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation and services for Roy will be held on Monday, May 8, 2000, at 9 a.m. in the New Oakhill Chapel. The Rev. Larry Ferguson, pastor of Christ’s Church, Plymouth will officiate.
Burial will follow in Oakhill Cemetery, Plymouth.
