Ruby E. Werner died of natural causes in the Leesburg Regional Medical Center Emergency Room, Leesburg, FL. on Monday, September 21, 2009. A former resident of Plymouth, she was 91 years old.
She was born in Rush County, Indiana, on February 19, 1918, the daughter of James and Josephine Hill Scott.
Ruby was a toll investigator for Sprint. A member of Telephone Pioneers, she retired from Sprint with over 20 years of service.
She was an avid quilter and excellent seamstress.
Ruby is survived by her spouse of 48 years, Fred Werner of Fruitland Park, and by five sons and two daughters. Her sons are: James (Arlene K.) Maze of Ocala, FLA.: Richard (Sue)
Maze, Plymouth, IN.: Ronald Maze, Koontz Lake, IN. Stephen M. Werner, Pittsburgh, PA.: and Jon (Mary) Werner, Leesburg, FL.
Her daughters are Mardene Reid of Summerfield, FL. and Lora Lee Rike of Ocala, FL.
Many loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchild also survive.
Ruby was preceded in death by her parents and three sons: Charles M. Maze, Francis E.Maze and Gerald W. Maze.
Friends may visit with the family and celebrate the life of Ruby Werner on Friday, September 25, 2009, from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth. A Rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m.
Funeral services for Ruby will be held in the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home at 10 a.m. on Saturday, September 26, 2009. The Rev. Father William Kummer, pastor of St. Michael Roman Catholic Church, where she was a member, will officiate.
Burial will be in New Oakhill Cemetery, Plymouth, IN.
