Ruth E. Samuelson, 90, passed away Thursday evening, November 15, 2018 at the Catherine Kasper Life Center in Donaldson.
Lifelong Plymouth resident, Ruth was born and raised in Marshall County on January 1, 1928 to Sylvester and Esther (Holem) Beatty.
In Plymouth, Ruth married John H. Samuelson, who survives. The couple made many memories through the years while raising their four boys.
She retired from working for the Marshall County REMC in 1996. She and John are members of Immanuel Lutheran Church.
Ruth got great joy from following and supporting her boys in Plymouth athletics, and was an active member of the Plymouth Booster Club. She also was a fan of her beloved Chicago Cubs and Indiana Hoosiers. Ruth was renowned for her cooking and baking.
Ruth is survived by her husband, John of Plymouth and their four boys: Curtis W. (Melissa) Samuelson of Plymouth, Thomas J. (Lisa) Samuelson of Plymouth, Phillip H. (Karen) Samuelson of Carmel, IN and Todd A. Samuelson of Plymouth; 9 grandchildren: Cassidy, Spencer, Ian (Jessie), Hannah, Bailey (Patrick) Lunte; Dan (Katie), Audrey, Garrett and Madeline; 1 great-grandson, Leo; brother, Robert D. Beatty of Plymouth, sister-in-law, Berniece Umbaugh of Plymouth, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, granddaughter Lauren, and siblings: Ward, Patrick, Raymond, Harold, Carson and Arvada Goodyear.
Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. on Tuesday, November 20, 2018 in the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan Street, Plymouth,
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, 6835 Union Road, Donaldson with Pastor Thelma Cobbler officiating. Visitation will resume one hour prior in the church.
Burial will be in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Donaldson.
