Ruth K. Alfeld, 80, formerly of LaPaz, moving to Plymouth in 1992, and a resident in Pilgrim Manor Nursing Center, died there, following an illness, on Sunday, December 26, 1999, at 6:45 a.m.
Ruth was born on July 3, 1919, in Huntington County, Indiana, the daughter of Henry W. and Fern Schultz Renz. She was a 1937 graduate of LaPaz High School and attended Beauticians School in South Bend, Ind.
On September 14, 1957, in Ft. Wayne, Ind., Ruth and Walter Alfeld were married. Walter died on August 13, 1989.
Ruth retired in 1985 from the Personnel Department at the Citrus Hill Manufacturing Company in Plymouth.
She attended the LaPaz Church of God.
Ruth is survived by two daughters: Sandra and Michael Anderson, Bremen and Susan and Paul Hendrichsen, Terre Haute, Ind. Three granddaughters and four great-grandchildren survive as well.
Her parents, her husband, Walter, a sister, Esther Price and a brother, Paul Renz, preceded Ruth in death.
Friends may visit with her family on Thursday, December 30, 1999, from 11 a.m. to noon in the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth, Ind. Funeral services will follow visitation at noon.
Burial will be in New Oakhill Cemetery, Plymouth.
Memorial gifts in Ruth’s memory may be given to the Alzheimers’ Association.
