Ruth L. Beals, 92, passed away at 5:03 p.m. on Saturday, September 7, 2013, in St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Plymouth Campus.
Ruth was born in Bourbon on January 28, 1921, to Galeman and Myrtle (Kitch) Dexter. She graduated from Plymouth High School in 1939.
On February 12, 1939, Ruth Lucille married Robert Newton Beals in Plymouth. He preceded her in death on July 30, 1974.
A homemaker, her faith and family were very important to her. A member of the Plymouth Wesleyan Church, she loved folding bulletins and doing other volunteer work for the church.
Ruth was also a die-hard Chicago Cubs fan.
She is survived by her four children: Kaye A. (Don) Weiss of Plymouth, Robert D. (Christine) Beals of Young America, IN, Bonnie G. Essex of Greenville, SC, and Linda R. Haines of Chicago, IL; 8 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild and a sister, Grace Harris of Wheatridge, CO.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Robert, sisters Eudora Bennett and Annabel Long, and her brother Galeman Dexter, Jr. Friends and family may call on Wednesday, September 11, 2013 from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. at the Plymouth Wesleyan Church, 11203 S. Michigan Road, Plymouth, Indiana 46563. Funeral services will immediately follow visitation at 11:30 a.m. in the church, with Pastor’s Ed Friberg and Oliver Dongell officiating.
Burial will be in New Oakhill Cemetery, Plymouth.
