Sandra Kay Hjerpe, 82, passed away on February 15, 2025 at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Plymouth. Born in Streator, IL on July 20, 1942, Sandy was the daughter of Hobart and Pearl (Adams) Robertson.

Sandy was a devoted homemaker at heart, pouring her love and energy into raising her four beloved children: Regina, Ramona, Rebecca, and Robert. Family was the cornerstone of Sandy's life, a value she instilled in her children with unwavering dedication. Her heart swelled with joy as she embraced the role of grandmother, cherishing every moment spent with her grandchildren. Gatherings were always filled with laughter and love, as Sandy had a joy for preparing large meals, believing that the more, the merrier when it came to family togetherness.

Known for her spunky and strong-willed personality, Sandy faced life's challenges with grace and resilience. She was a homebody and enjoyed the simple things in life like knitting and crocheting or enjoying a glass of tea while visiting with her neighbors. Sandy had a green thumb, and her garden flourished under her attentive care, reflecting the nurturing love she offered to all.

A faithful member of the Nazarene Church, Sandy's unwavering faith was a guiding light in her life, something she passionately passed on to her children. In the mid-nineties, she married Carl Hjerpe, who preceded her in death in 2002.

She will be missed by her daughters, Gina (Jack) Elliott and Mona Yeazel-Yeager; 13 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, and 9 great-great grandchildren; along with her sister, Carol Gula. Sandy will also be missed by her cherished kitty, Hannah.

Sandy is preceded in death by her parents, Hobart and Pearl; husband, Carl Hjerpe; daughter, Rebecca Calix (Dennis Johnson); son, Robert “Butch” Yeager, Jr., son-in-law, Stephen Yeazel; great-grandson, Alex Caballero; and 11 siblings.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
