Sarah A. Wolfe, 85, a former Argos and South Bend resident, living at Miller’s Merry Manor, Plymouth, since 1993, died of natural causes at 4:15 p.m., on Sunday, January 30, 2000, in the health facility at 600 Oakhill Avenue, Plymouth.
Sarah, the daughter of Samuel and Gertrude Brooker McKee was born on March 15, 1914, at Leiters Ford, Indiana. She graduated from Argos High School in 1931.
On July 26, 1942, in South Bend, Sarah and Glenn A. Wolfe were married. Glenn died on October 28, 1985.
Sarah was a bookkeeper for the South Bend Community School Corporation at Riley High School for 15 years. She retired in 1975.
A lover of the opera, for years she was a supporter of the South Bend Civic Music Organization. She was very involved with the Argos Alumni Association and enjoyed their activities.
Sarah is survived by her son, John A. and daughter-in-law, Janice L. Wolfe of Mishawaka. A granddaughter, Rebecca Wolfe of South Bend and a grandson, Andrew Wolfe of Mishawaka, survive together with a sister, Kathryn Kokko, of Plymouth.
Her parents, her spouse, a sister, Helen Fox and a brother, Ermal McKee, preceded Sarah in death.
There will be no visitation.
Family services will be held on Wednesday, February 2, 2000, in the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth.
Burial will be in New Oakhill Cemetery, Plymouth.
Memorial gifts in Sarah’s memory may be made to the Arthritis Association.
