Scott Allen Lowry

Scott Allen Lowry, 39 a lifetime Walkerton area resident, died there Thursday evening. His death is under the investigation of the St. Joseph County Coroner’s office. Scott was born in South Bend , Ind. , the son of Gale and Sharon L. Schmeltz Lowry on April 28, 1963. He graduated from John Glenn High School in the Class of 1981. Following graduation Scott served with the United States Army for a period of two year. Over the past twelve years Scott has worked in the building trades as a drywall installer, he was currently employed by K & K Construction. Scott was good with a wrench and enjoyed fixing cars. His family knew him to be a protector and showed much interest in his nieces and nephews. Survivors include his parents; Sharon and Gale Lowry of Walkerton, four sisters; Traci I. (Jim) Klingerman of Walkerton, Darla J. ( Gary ) Pantzer of South Bend , Robbyn R. Dehoff of Walkerton and Alicia J. (Ed) Adams of Indianapolis , Ind. Five nieces, three nephews and one great niece survive along with his maternal grandfather, Cecil L. Schmeltz of Plymouth . Several aunt, uncles, cousins and friends are left to mourn his passing. Preceding Scott in death were his paternal grandparents; Forest P. and Adaline Lowry and maternal grandmother, Bertha I. Schmeltz. Visitation will be held from 3 – 7 p.m. on Sunday, September 22nd in the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St. Plymouth , Ind. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, September 23rd in the funeral home. His uncle, the Rev. Charles Krieg, pastor of the Salem United Methodist Church , Bremen will officiate. Burial will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery , Walkerton , Ind. A memorial donation in Scott’s memory may be made to the American Red Cross Bloodmobile.
