Shirley A. Reese

September 9, 1932 — June 22, 2022

Shirley Ann Reese, 89, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 22, 2022 at Miller’s Merry Manor, Plymouth.

Born on September 9, 1932 in Starke, Indiana she was the daughter of Walter and Mabel (Black) Casto.

She attended LaPaz High School graduating with the class of 1950. During her senior year of high school while cheerleading a basketball game, a young gentleman chasing after a loose ball fell in her lap. The rest was history and Shirley and Gale would be married on February 18, 1951 in North Judson. They shared 71 wonderful years of marriage.

Shirley attended Cosmetology school in South Bend and would cut and style hair out of her house for a few years. To contribute to meet the needs of a growing business she went to work for the telephone company before going to work with Gale running the books for Reese Equipment Company.

Throughout her life she lived out being a true Christian. She was a giver and always forgiving to so many, simply loving to serve.  Strong, gentle and faithful are just a few words that come to mind as she was the best mother and wife to her children and her husband.

She was an avid reader and collector. Often collecting stamps, coins and keys. Shirley also loved to play games.
