Sr. Bernice Buescher, PHJC, 97, passed away at 6:20 p.m. on All Souls Day, Friday November 2, 2012 in the Catherine Kasper Life Center on the grounds of Ancilla Domini at Donaldson, Indiana.
The daughter of Frederick B. and Anna Marie (Bender) Buescher, Sister Bernice was born on January 26, 1915 in Avilla, Indiana.
Sister entered the convent on September 8, 1934 and professed her vows on June 25, 1942 as a Poor Handmaid of Jesus Christ. Sister received her degree from DePaul University.
She truly loved her ministry of teaching in Indiana and Illinois. Upon retiring from education, sister worked in bookkeeping until she retired to the Catherine Kasper Home on November 2, 1999.
Sister is survived by two brothers; Charles and Ray Buescher and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation for Sr. Bernice will be held on Monday, November 5th from 4:30 – 8:30 p.m. in the Catherine Kasper Home Chapel, 9601 Union Road, Donaldson with a prayer service at 7 p.m.
Her Funeral Liturgy will be at 11:15 a.m. on Tuesday, November 6th in the chapel with Celebrants Fr. John Zemelko and Fr. Gerry Schweitzer.
Burial will follow in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Donaldson.
